This is a true FTA question
Do anyone know how to program an FTA receiver?

I have a VU-Sat
As yo do factory default yo loose all your channel lineup settings.
If I want to save my lineup
What procedure do I need?

The manual that it came with was incredibly unhelpful
I know it can be done via rs232 or null cable
But how to do it, anyone?

Get and Load Channel Master, then READ FROM STB, now the channel master starting to down load the channel list, wait til it complete, then SAVE AS.... Now you have save a Full dump of you channel list.

or

TO SAVE CHANNEL INFO:

Power "ON" STB

MENU

INSTALLATION

RECEIVER UPGRADE

CHANNEL

Open LOADER2 in your PC

Click STB --> to --> PC

Data will automatically move from the STB to the PC and be stored as "chaninfo.cha" usually in

your Loader2 directory

Actually what I found on VU-Sat website:
OSDEdit 1.6 - Channel Editor for (Plat and Xtreme)
ODSEdit4000_USA_v01082 (BIN)

- Support Favorite Channel Edit
- Support Channel Move Function
- Export Channel to CSV (Excel File Format) (Ver 1.2)
- Support Positioner Model (ODS 2000FP & CIP)
- Uploading/Downloading Main S/W channel & Satellite information between STB & PC
- Editing Channel & Satellite Information

(i.e. factory pre-setting of all the satellite & transponders information. In the PC its file is displayed *.SAT
*.PCH: Preset Channel or Programmed Channel. If yo execute the Facory Default, this channel is restored.)

Requirement
RS232 9 pin female connectors (Pin 2,3,5)

I got all the above from:

Did anyone try any of these procedures?
