Vertical and Horizontal frequencies (V and H) Typical Sats like: 93, 97, 101, 118.75, 121 Circular DSS high power DSS require 20" dish or bigger. Right and Left circular frequencies. (L and R) Typical Sats like: 61.5, 82, 91, 110, 119, 129, 148 check www.lyngsat-com |

Yo might get few transponders that are common on the bandwidth span but yo can buy an LNB that is quad polarity and used as both Linear and Circular like INVACOM QUAD QPH-031 Universal is a common term used to express vertical transponders and horizontal transponders This is a good section yo can read: https://www.ecoustics.com/cgi-bin/bbs/show.pl?tpc=2&post=978098#POST978098 |
Gold Member Username: Crazy_greekPost Number: 1255 Registered: Jul-06 | tipit The answer is NO. A) The Standard Linear LNB was designed for North America.Local Oscillator 10.750 GHz use. B)The Universal LNB was designed for lower Ku band. Local Oscillator 9.750/10.600 GHz Both are Linear Polarization. C) 10.750 GHz for Standard Ku band Reception. (Dish Network) AMC 15, EchoStar 9 & EchoStar 5 Linear Polarization. 11.250 GHz are for Pay TV Reception. Circular Polarization. |

Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 1655 Registered: Oct-06 | Well nice try History In the old days there was Vertical and Horizontal TPs Require 2 seperate amplifications Now days 1-LNB can get both called universal This is where the name universal comes from commonly used for linear We're both saying same thing 2 different prospectives I kind of understood that he meant to use a different LNB like circular instead of linear mixingup the name Universal. |
Platinum Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 12973 Registered: Jan-06 | no biggie...just didn't undrstand why u were saying that universal and linear had different polarity...universal LNB's have been around a long time as have linear standard, which neither had anything to do with circular...guess u just misunderstood the question... |

Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 1657 Registered: Oct-06 | Universal settings in antenna setup can also be used to either Circular or Linear LNBs as it is referring to Vertical and Horizontal TPs. Yo can change local Oscillator frequency to scan any desired frequency. For example 9.750 Hz starts scanning at 11.750 GHz TPs frequencies. 10.600 Ghz settings at about aprox 12.600 GHZ Local Oscillator is aprox 2 GHz less Can be changed beyond default settings My answer is Universal can be used to either Circular and Linear |

Platinum Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 12994 Registered: Jan-06 | nalin should thank everybody here...cause this is where she learns...from those of us that post good info..kavin hit the nail on the head here.. king your info is nice to have , but not relevant to this original post and this thread... |
Gold Member Username: Crazy_greekPost Number: 1263 Registered: Jul-06 | LK ,King is again mislead or misread You can not use a Universal LNB for Circular. Universal LNB's are used for lower Ku band reception. In Antenna Setup LNB Type (Standard) LNB Local-Freq. Circular=11,250 Linear=10,750 In antenna Setup LNB Type (Universal) will not pickup Circular Go to a friend's house and try it. You are just like my wife, hard head and stinking feet |

Gold Member Username: NydasPost Number: 4165 Registered: Jun-06 | LK: I don't come to learn from you. I only come to audit. You said: "king your info is nice to have , but not relevant to this original post and this thread..." You can't even praise people's effort properly. 90% of your posts are relevant, so you do not even have the right to make such a comment. QED |
