higher tuning...50hz-70or so will meter better than 30 hz.30hz loud needs much power, but it sounds extremely loud in a parking lot showin off!shakes the ground, but maybe low 140s,70hz would sound kinda like a loud hummm and just agravate folks but be meterin 150s with same power.lol i dont like burp boxes, burps are for beer, but the meter well.just my thought and experience.
afaik when it comes to spl comps u find out the reasonating freq of ur vehicle & tune close to it to get most spl out of ur box ....each car model is supposed to have a different freq peak .....
interchangable ports does not solve the problem about
What sounds loud but does not meter loud
and
What meters loud but does not sound loud
personally build something you like easy to the ear or if yoru rude harsh loud to the ear fu-ck that tl man its nothing but numbers why have a really high numbers system that sounds like shyt
Ok I knew everyone would be talking about tunning. It's hard for me to explain but in some systems you can feel the bass a lot and see the car flex, but just doesn't sound loud.
Other systems sound really loud to the ear and hurt, but the car doesnt flex and things dont move in the car.
I guess this is partially vehicle dependent, but a way of knowing how to get the system to load right would be great knowledge to have.
