Fiberglass door panels

Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesRock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 1473 Registered: Mar-06 | Started on my fiberglass door panels today but had a slight mishap. I'll save that for later... I'll get most everything cut out tomorrow. I'm having to do this in about 3 different places so it may take a few days. Anyway, here are a few shots, more pics tomorrow. Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesRock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 1478 Registered: Mar-06 |  started with  basic shape  rough fit  rings and panels  drawing circles for speaker rings... the ghetto way  holdin it steady to resin  in place  template to reality  in place finished     Sorry for the crappy pics. Only had a cell phone while I was at my shop (last 4 I took at home). All I have left to do is cut out the pieces to mount the ring on the other panel (it took us forever to get the ring at the right angle) and do the actual fiberglassing (which will be the easier part). Probably no more progress till monday (cant get back into the shop till then)... Let me know what ya think so far. I'll get better pics |

I can't justify spending ~$100 on sound deadening on a car I paid $50 for, but the door resonates like a B!TCH. Sounds terrible. No midbass either. I'd just have to build some that I could remove and throw in another car. |

It really isnt that hard to do. The hardest part is finding the angle you want the speaker at. took us about an hour to do that.... if you're good at woodworking and have a router to cut clean speaker rings I would rate what I've done so far at a level 7 difficulty. Just takes patience. |
