I have my brother's old Sony Trinitron- maybe six years old. I know it's probably seen the end of its days, but if there is a cheap fix for it, I'd like to try it. When I power it on, it charges up, I get that "whum" of the power coming on. I get sound, but no picture. After about four seconds the tv turns itself off and the standby/timer button blinks twice/pauses/blinks twice/pauses and so on. Other MBs seem to indicate that the over-current protection has kicked in and that I need to replace the line output transformer. How expensive is this going to be? How can I be sure that that IS my problem before I buy a new LOPT and open the casing and poke around in there? Is there anything else that might be causing these symptoms? Any help would be much appreciated.
