Whats up guys, i ain't been on the forum in quite a while........ those of you that have been here a while know who I am though. Anyways,

I'm lookin for a tone generator with RCA outputs. I want to make a "burp button" if you will, for the system. Anyone done this before, and what equipment did ya use?

I myself use my laptop but if you are looking for an adjustable stand-alone unit hit the DIY forum and ask for a circuit design. Polo..

Yeah a stand alone unit is what I want. I have enough electronics experience to build one if I had to, but I wanted to know if such a thing exists out there. I just cant believe that nobody makes something like this.

There are plenty of cheap tone generators out there...they usually just make a few tones though.

We have a cheap on at the shop, has RCA and aligator-clip output. Use it to test amps and speakers...only make 8-10 different tones though.

They do have such thing, it's called a signal generator. I purchased a portable one last year. It looks just like a DMM, same size too.
You select the frequency and type of wave, and it generates it.
I bought it cause it was one of those rare test equipment.
