Hey, you said you have a 15" d6 in a 3.3 cu box tuned to like 32hz right? Im going to be building a box for mine soon. Is there anything on your box you wish you could change, or prefer to do different? I only listen to rap so i dont need much sq. Do you know how much port area you have, and if that 3.3 cu is with or without port, and is that gross or net size? I just wanna do it right the first time so thanks if you can help me.

I suppose it is all preference, but I would have tuned mine lower, possibly as low as 28hz. I prefer SQ and tuned to 32 it is a bit boomy in the 40hz range. It still gets low enough for me and has lots of punch. I have 48in^2 of port and 3.3 is net. Overall, it is about 4 cubes. Mine really came alive after porting it and that is in a Tahoe so I imagine in a car it will be pretty crazy.

I modeled that sub on Winisd and it looks like 28hz would take that peak out that I dont want. Maybe another box build in the future.

My main concern is to be able to fit in through my trunk lid. I googled the hell out of that sub and cant find much specs on it. Do you know what the xmax on it is? i might be posting more questions on this so if you dont mind just glancing at it once in a while would be awsome.

Xmax is 15mm for dual 4 ohm and 16mm for dual 2. Diamond audio has all the specs listed on their site. Go to support, then click on technical documents for current products, then go to D6 woofer tech sheet. I will check this thread periodically so keep us posted!

Thanks dude. Im running out of ideas on boxes. I was thinking about this.. 12"h x 24"l x 30"d (gross dim.). If I use 3/4" mdf I should come out to about 3.9cf total net.
Slot vent- 10.5"h x 22.5"l x 4.25"w. That should be just a hair under 0.6 cf. So that will leave me with 3.3 cf net w/o port, and 3.9cf w/ port. tuned @32hz.
Am I roughly correct?

Im probly gonna have fisher customs make templets for me just to make sure everything aok and then build it myself.

Measurements are correct, I will have to make sure the port comes out to 32hz tuning. I will model it if I get a chance.

Well I had fishercustoms help me out and I think were gonna go with 3.3 cf @35hz. I like a little sound quality, but I love it loud (should still sound descent). Im going with 3/4 mdf over 1" to get all the more area possible. It will be a tight fit, and I might even have to put the sub in after I get the box in my trunk just to make sure i dont scratch it up.
