PAL machines can play NTSC (as region 2 is PAL (UK/europe) AND NTSC (japan). Region 1 is NTSC only (Canada and USA) hence no PAL capability.

Cheers guys. How to convert your Aiwa XR-DV370KN player into a multi-region compatible machine. To convert this player to Multi-Region playback 1. Press the Pause button on your remote control 2. Using your remote control enter the code 3, 1, 4, 1, 5 and 9 Note: If your unit does not enter the following mode which enables you to enter a region code, repeat steps 1 and 2. You may need to enter these codes in a shorter time span for them to work. 3. Press the 0 button on your remote control for Region free, 1 for Region 1 or 2 for Region 2. 4. Press the Pause button on your remote control 5. Power off your player and wait a few seconds 6. Power on your player.

The link has a huge data base and if not the owner suggests to contact him?? Hope it helps, the code seems to have worked on my machine which I put the code in only 1 hour ago but has already accepted over a dozen dvd's that it previously wouldn't. However, the Tech Team at www.dvdexploder.com/dvdcodes seem to be making some breakthroughs and developed some Panasonic HT*** codes. I'd give them a try, as their customer service team is fantastic, even if you're simply making an enquiry. They've helped me in the past with seemingly 'unlockable' machines and respond rapidly to e-mails. Surprising really.

You need to either buy it new modified by a specialist dealer, or have it modified by a specialist dealer. You can get the bits and do it yourself from www.multiregionupgrades.com, or most Shop@panasonic shops can do this for you.

You buy them pre-modded from a specialist dealer, or have to physically make a mod to the machine. Try sites such as www.multiregionupgrades.com, or a local Sony center / Shop@panasonic store shom offer them new as multiregion.

You may find yourself scouring the net for ages without a constructive answer. However, the Techical Team at www.dvdexploder.com seem to be making breakthroughs I'm rather impressed with and have developed some Panasonic HT*** codes. I'd at least visit the website, as their customer service team are very reliable, even if you're making a simple enquiry. They've helped me in the past with seemingly 'unlockable' machines and respond rapidly to e-mails. Give them a go, for any player you're trying to crack.

Press the 1 button on the remote control 6. Press the 0 button on the remote control 7. A Service Menu will appear 8. Select 0 (zero) to make the player into a Region Free DVD Player 9. Press SETUP on the remote control to exit NOTE - The 0 (zero) in #8 above sequence represents the Region Code 0 - Region Free. I know it is an older model, but refurbs, used and even some new ones can be found on ebay and other internet stores for $50 to $150. This hack will allow you to upconvert all the way to 1080i over component cable. It's great for all of us with older HD TV models. 1. Turn your television ON 2. Ensure the DVD tray is EMPTY and CLOSED 3. Turn the DVD Player ON 4. Wait for the message 'NO DISC' to appear (Using the remote control supplied with the player) 5. Press the "ANGLE" button 6. Press the numbers 4, 3, 2, 7 (You should see the message 'HDCP Free' appear in the upper left hand corner of your television screen) 7. Press "ANGLE" again. Your DVD player is now region-free and HDCP-free! Use the "DVI SEL" button to set your desired resolution. You may also have to play around with your video settings in the setup menu to fine tune everything to your particular TV.

You can buy them pre-modded, can mod it yourself if you have the required equipment, or can buy/hire a factory remote as used when these are manufactured to do it yourself. If you have a PDA or a learning remote like a philips pronto, then you can follow the info listed on forums such as www.avforums.com. If you just want to use a remote and press a single key and its all taken care off for you, then see sites like www.multiregionupgrades.com. if you live in the UK, many specialist Av retailers and many shop@panasonic stores also offer the upgrades for a small fee. The unit is a Nordmende (never heard of it before)and I cannot find the model number on the system, the remote control has a model number LC03-AR028A but when i searched this on google it transpires this is the model number for the remote control that goes with the TV model LCD NM20X (i think this is reference to the 20" system, but i think mine is 26/28").
