Darren | What is the best centre channel to buy for around $200.00? I'm using an Onkyo TX-SR701 receiver, Angstrom Alpha 80's for Front speakers, Acoustic Research M4's for Rear speakers, and a Jamo SW410E subwoofer. Any suggestions would help. |
timn8ter | I'm not familiar with Angstrom loudspeakers. Your goal for center channel performance is to create continuity when the action moves from side to center to side. You don't want the character of the sound to change just because it's coming from a different speaker. If possible, find a center channel that uses the same drivers that are in the 80's. Does Angstrom make a center channel? |
Darren | timn8ter, Yes Angstrom does make a center channel. Here is the link, check it out http://www.angstromloudspeakers.com/. |
timn8ter | So they don't make the Alpha 80 any longer? There's no rule that says a bookshelf speaker can't be used for a center channel. Just make sure it's magnetically shielded and matches your mains. |
