Why manufacturers didn't make all players region free remained a mystery until I did a little research on the Internet. Amongst the flotsam and jetsam of web trash floating around I came across a fantastic site that explained all and unlocked my two players V Toshiba & Samsung models. If youre hunting for a code and are having some difficulty making your player multi-region then check out www.dvdexploder.com Theyve got some really helpful staff on their team that will actually take the time to research a DVD player unlock code for you. I've been in communication with these guys for a number of months and they dont seem to mind answering any and all questions I fire at them regarding the world of DVD players. In all his postings (of which there are many) he keeps singing the praises of a particular provider - anyone would think he works for them !! I know what it is to write a posting in appreciation but the number of his postings makes it look like lots of different people are recommending this supplier and it's one and the same person every time !!!!! That sort of thing always rings alarm bells with me. You can in fact buy a new multi-region player for the same cost as one of the DIY upgrades in question....!!!!!! For anyone keen on making use of their current player and upgrading it I suggest contacting the manufacturer (eg via their website) in the first instance as they may well be able to point you in the best (and cheapest) direction...... However, I have had a marantz dvd player, made in hungary, purchased it in the year 1999, and surprisingly it says dvd-region 2 at the back of the player, but I have played almost every region on this player, never once I have faced any region problem on this player of mine..(no jokes)... For all those people with similar region problem and need cracks, codes, cheats is I don't have any site for recommendation for cracks,codes but its a long process, I do have a site called DVDfab platinum or gold, u can copy ur master DVD on to another blank DVD either directly, carbon copy,(u would need an 8.5gb blank dvd) or can split ur DVD into 2dvd(Disc 1, Disc 2, which is of 4.7gb any regular blank dvd would do) and after having done so, I gurantee you that it would play on ur DVD player just fine, regardless of what region ur dvd player is at... I definitely, 110% sure, coz I have tried it myself.. Regards shane...... |

Failing that there are manu GENUINE websites out there that can supply you with the original factory service remote as used by the manufacturers to unlock your model, wuch as www.dvdchips.co.uk or www.multiregionupgrades.com Just remember, you CANNOT mod a JVC, PIONEER, SONY or PANASONIC model WITH CODES FROM ITS OWN REMOTE. Using your remote control enter the code 3, 1, 4, 1, 5 and 9 Note: If your unit does not enter the following mode which enables you to enter a region code, repeat steps 1 and 2. You may need to enter these codes in a shorter time span for them to work. 3. Press the 0 button on your remote control for Region free, 1 for Region 1 or 2 for Region 2. 4. So when we received a Region 1 dvd I went and googled unlock codes. This is what worked: STEPS: 1. Open tray 2. Press '000' 3. Green screen with enter code prompt will appear 4. I want a movie that is only available on PAL or a region other than Region 1. I called the help number for funai-corp and the customer service rep told me that any DVD would play with this system. I didn't feel really secure that she had any idea what I was talking about as I had to repeat it to her twice. She just said that it was not an issue and that any DVD from any region would play. (It clearly shows region 1 on the back.) Does anyone know if I got a correct answer or was she just confused. I don't want to pay a lot for this movie if I can't watch it. Thanks |

Why manufacturers didn't make all players region free remained a mystery until I did a little research on the Internet. Amongst the flotsam and jetsam of web trash floating around I came across a fantastic site that explained all and unlocked my two players - Toshiba & Samsung models. If you're hunting for a code and are having some difficulty making your player multi-region then check out www.dvdexploder.com They've got some really helpful staff on their team that will actually take the time to research a DVD player unlock code for you. I've been in communication with these guys for a number of months and they don't seem to mind answering any and all questions I fire at them regarding the world of DVD players. This is down to trade restrictions forced on DVD manufacturers by movie studios (a conspiracy), enabling the big boys to control movie release dates to maximise profits, squeezing every $ from every region in the world.
