Is the 16:9 mode that the Sony has justify twice the price of the Toshiba?

I can only comment on comparing the 27 inch models from each manufactuer. Two weeks ago I got the Toshiba 27 inch 27AF44 and with digital cable the cable picture quality is OUTSTANDING. I've seen the Sony equivalent which I admit is just as good but if it costs twice as much it is not worth the extra expense. It also comes with a one year in-home warranty on parts and labor (2 year for the tube) while Sony offers just 90 days for labor (other aspects of both warranties are the same).
Be sure the Toshiba you want has a pure flat screen, a DIGITAL 3 comb filter and 3:2 pulldown for widescreen amaphoric DVDs (the 3-2 pulldown really enhances DVDs). I cannot comment on audio quality since my 5.1 goes directly from the cable box to my home theater receiver (bypassing the need for TV sound).
If both offer the same features the Sony is not worth the extra bucks.
