I saw a guy's box it was a tight squeeze he had the magnet against the back of the box. He had the vent hole cut out, there was no blow by from inside of box it had a gasket and screws holding tight. It still hit pretty good. Does anyone know about how this works? is it good or bad??

it seems like it would cool the voice coil better by using the cooler air outside of the box the velt the pole peice but i think that the air that comes out of the pole peice generates alor of the sound but i am not sure.

Well, people do INVERT subs all the time, which has almost the whole sub outside of the box. If the vent was sealed off where there aren't any air leaks, it should not matter.

I vent the coil out the box when I have to. Just make sure you have a cover over it like speaker grill cloth or foam, so you don't get debris in it. I have seen people set the vent hole right against the back of the box, bad news. It has to be able to breath. Thanks
