serial loading 2500 format bin to re-write 2500's flash to modded 2700 flash image--notes in zip--but really is very experimental, can only be sure it works on pansat 2500 box. Did my best to add ultra's flash block structure, but not sure if I have it right (what I see in bin code and what I see in jkeys def file do not agree). serial_upgrade_2500_bin.ZIP Does do all the pansat2500 flash correctly--slow though, expect ~45 secs between boot6.0 and box re-booting with b-75 (if it works). --- If you have the box converted by jtag to use the modded 2700 bin, dont' jtag back to the 2500 (unless you really, really want to test the serial load bin). The image in the 2500 bin is the same image as in the jtag file (well, the boot is different by a few bytes to make the 2500 serial loader work). I have made no releases of a 0x70000 sized modded and compressed 2700 bin that you could load using modded boot code w/ 2500 style loader. Though you could cut the bin section from the 2.03 bin containing 2500 to 2700 flash image and use that (that is what I did my tests with--I switched back and forth between the 2.05 containing and the 2.03 containing 0x70000 sized bin sections that are between 0x80000 and 0xeffff in the resp. 1M image files).
Many have tried this sucessfuly...and others had no luck....its NOT easy...I really see no purpose in doing this, unless U like to "tinker" around and are a TRUE TESTER, which Most FTA owners are NOT...MOST just want FREE TV......it was done originally by Jvvh for 1 reason ONLY, to prove Blacklist wrong about his trash talk about the 1 mb memory in the 2500's causing bin limitations and options...
U can ONLY use jvvh's special modded 2500-2700 conversion bins once U do this conversion...and those bins are VERY limited...yes its popular now, but this came out many months ago!

I did a fortec - 2700 a few days ago. worked fast, but maybe because of the latest bin the receiver only worked for a few hours and went black screen no display. had to re jtag it and it worked again for about 10 minutes, had to rejtag and eventually load back the fortec bin. still don't know what bin should be going on the fortec after the mod, it seriously affected my TP strength
