I have read that this system can be made region free by using my Palm Pilot and NoviiRemote Deluxe. Here are the instructions below posted by AlexL on the videohelp.com website. " Download "Novii remote deluxe" from a site of the manufacturer http://www.novii.tv . Install novii remote in yours PocketPC or Palm. Install to (move to) 'novii folder'/Codebases/ file 'DVD_sony_0.pdb'. Power on your player without a disk (the tray is closed). Start on yours PocketPC(Palm) the program 'novii remote'. Select 'DVD_sony_0'. Direct the infra-red port your PocketPC(Palm) on dvd-player. Press the buttons "1","2","3","4","5". Your player is multiregion." I have followed all instructions but it appears that my system starts register something before I even hit the 5th button.
