Alright, im currently running a 15HD3 off an sae-1000d. Due to trunk limitations, the biggest box i could fit in there is 3 cubes @ 40Hz. I know I am underpowering this sub, but I dont have the electrical upgrades to do a whole lot more. I was wondering what you guys. I thought about picking up a 12w7, and building a box that would suit its needs, as opposed to the 15HD3, which likes 4 cubes. On the same amount of power, which you think would shine more?

12W7 in 2.5cubes @ 32Hz
15HD3 in 3cubes @ 40Hz

Just looking for some general opinions, and im just looking for it to slam, I know the W7 has great SQ too, but the HD3 suprised me and its sq is really amazing. Thanks Guys.

I guess the reason i put /HDC3 series, is because I would also consider picking up the 12HDC3 upon its release, but of course no one knows much about it until its been released.

With 1000rms I would go with the W7. The HD3 is a solid driver, but to really make it shine more than 1000rms is needed. A nice sql driver like the W7 that does well with 1000rms would probably suit your needs best.

x2^. but what's your budget cause there's more options than the w7 that'll be perfect with 1000wrms. ex., tc2000, tc3000, tc oem 10", idmax, fi q. or you already set one that one?

I really wanted to experience what the W7 has to offer, I hear a lot of it, but wanted to experience it for myself. I definitly don't plan on buying new, because the price is rediculous, im looking for possibly a trade + cash or whatever need be.

he's got a nice amp now. not a 1000/1, but nice. and if you read his posts, doesn't seem he has the kind of cash for that stuff.

also, there's a mint 15" mag for sale on ca.com. $400 but the seller looks like he'll lower it some.

Charlie the HD3 is a very efficient sub. It can handle more then a 1000 watts and get louder but it will get as loud on a 1000 watts as just about any other sub made on 1000 watts and without stressing the sub.

I run my HD310's on 800 watts each ported at 40 Hz in a 2.75 net box and people can't believe they are just 10's with 800 watts each.

Chad im still looking for a sub that will reinforce my hearing loss, but when I get tired of that, ill look into that ;). Yes I do not have that kind of cash. I would never buy a 1000/1 basically because it cost an arm and a leg and a scandanavian.

I saw the mag, but im mainly lookin to go w/ a 12" if i decide to get rid of the hd3, and i think he said 400 firm, i may look into a 12 si mag, a 12hdc3, or the 12w7. Thanks for the help guys.
