Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 220 Registered: Jul-06 | are these amps reliable? I am thinking of buying two MA Audio M1900xe Digital Class D NR (1000w rms) to power two ssd 12's. |
Bronze Member Username: ShorterthanrichPost Number: 89 Registered: Apr-06 | MA audio is a hotly debated brand on the forum. I accept that they don't sell the highest quality stuff, but they seem to be good for the price. I have two MA120XE subs that I'm very happy with. I don't know if they are reliable or not, but judging off of my subs, they probably are pretty reliable.. However, you'd be getting it for around $150 shipped I'd assume...and you can just get the Cadence TXA-1000D for $200. There's probably no comparison between the MA Audio amp and that Cadence. I use the TXA-1000D and I absolutely love it. I payed $270 for it, so $200 is a steal. Search ebay for it. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 221 Registered: Jul-06 | i can get the MA m1900 for 130 shipped brand new, and im lookin to buy two, so an amp for 200 is a bit pricy for my budget. I was just curious if they would supply my ssd's with at least 800w rms apiece and be reliable... |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 223 Registered: Jul-06 | my subs are 1 ohm dvc. so i need an amp where 2 ohms puts the most power out, the MA audio puts 1000w rms at 2 ohm, the cadence puts 650 at 2 ohms. |
Bronze Member Username: Slimdog53185Bowling Green, Kentucky U.S. Post Number: 75 Registered: May-07 | I have a ma audio amp powering my subs right now. I would recommend it if you are on a budget. I have the hk-598. It doesn't do rated power but it does put out enough. It is really reliable in this KY heat. I've never had a problem with the amp. You would need an amp that puts out what wattage you want at 2ohms. |
Bronze Member Username: ShorterthanrichPost Number: 90 Registered: Apr-06 | Thats true, that Cadence is at 1 ohm, which is how I run it with 2 DVC 4 Ohm subs... Then yes, look into the MA amps |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 224 Registered: Jul-06 | Are the MA amps capable of being linked together? Is there a way i can hook TWO amps up off one power cable? I have a 1 gauge already ran through my vehicle. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 226 Registered: Jul-06 | CAN I TRUST MA AUDIO, MOST KNOW SOON, NEED TO BUY AN AMP, PLEASE HELP |
Bronze Member Username: ShorterthanrichPost Number: 91 Registered: Apr-06 | They probably over-rate their amps, but for the most part they seem trustworthy. Thats really just speculation, though. |
Gold Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 4738 Registered: Dec-05 | NVmyboom, i really don't like Ma audio stuff, 17V ratings, they tend to have a short life. But seriously, if you're getting Fi SSD, you need 1600w rms, not 1k. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 227 Registered: Jul-06 | i know, i was going to buy two, but i changed my mind. I think im going to buy a HIFONICS BXI2006D, i can get one for 320 shipped. what u guys think? |

Bronze Member Username: ShorterthanrichPost Number: 92 Registered: Apr-06 | People speak well of Hifonics as a budget brand. That's a good price for 2000 watts @ 1 ohm in my opinion. The cadence are probably way more. I say go for it.. I'm almost wishing I paid the extra $50 to upgrade to the amp you're talking about so I could upgrade my subs in the future. now the only upgrading I could do is to two 500 watt RMS subs...which I'm ok with haha. Good luck |
