Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 186 Registered: Jul-06 | Would the extra 70 bucks be worth buying ssd's over cvx's?? Are the ssd's spl, sq, or sql?? would the massive audio p1500.1 be a good amp for them? |
Silver Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 702 Registered: Mar-06 | yes, sql leaning toward spl, get a kicker zx1500.1 |
Silver Member Username: camPost Number: 530 Registered: Nov-06 | the massive would be fine though. but yes the SSDs would be worth it. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 187 Registered: Jul-06 | ok, i have a 130 amp alt. and im gonna do the big three. I also already have a red top battery. How much gain limit will i have to do on my amp? |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 188 Registered: Jul-06 | is there anywhere else that i can get the ssd's cheaper than at FI's website, i can get two for 380 shipped there. |
Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 4668 Registered: Feb-06 | unless you buy used, you have to buy from fi. but there cheap enough as it is, $380 is really good for a nice pair of 12"s. |
Bronze Member Username: LikeapumaWashington/Utah Post Number: 86 Registered: Aug-06 | No, it's not worth it to go with the ssd's for more money. The CVX slaughtered the ssd in bassman's 12" challenge. Save the money, and get a louder sub. -C |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 189 Registered: Jul-06 | how much gain limit?? Its so hard to decide, cvx's or ssd's. Anyones input would be great!!!! |
Silver Member Username: camPost Number: 532 Registered: Nov-06 | Personally, I'd go with the SSDs. You'll have to hook it up and find out how much power you'll be able to get out of your charging system. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 190 Registered: Jul-06 | how will i know the max?? Which sub will be the loudest, but still be reliable??? |
Bronze Member Username: LikeapumaWashington/Utah Post Number: 88 Registered: Aug-06 | I don't know about the max. CVX will be the loudest, both will be reliable. -C |
Silver Member Username: camPost Number: 533 Registered: Nov-06 | You check your voltage drop. Fi has better build quality. The guy above is saying the CVXs are louder, I wouldn't know. I would rather buy a product that is going to last longer. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 191 Registered: Jul-06 | anyone else have an opinion on cvx or ssd??? |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3IF U HEAR ME... crazydbs.com Post Number: 5481 Registered: Feb-06 | its provent hat the cvxs are louder than the qs |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 192 Registered: Jul-06 | ok, so cvx=loud ssd=reliable Which sub would sound best in a ported box with a massive audio p1500.1 powering them? |
Silver Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 605 Registered: Nov-06 | Meaning L7s are louder than the qs aswell |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 193 Registered: Jul-06 | qs?? |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 195 Registered: Jul-06 | ok, cvx's are louder correct? and since they are louder, exactly how much louder?? |
Silver Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 607 Registered: Nov-06 | you would think by now that you would know that it always depends on the INSTALL |
Bronze Member Username: LikeapumaWashington/Utah Post Number: 89 Registered: Aug-06 | On a level playing field, this much louder. http://bigbassman.realmofexcursion.com/images/graphs/average-ported.gif |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 196 Registered: Jul-06 | well, they will be INSTALLED in a custom built box in a Ford Explorer powered with 1500w rms. Which would be better? |
Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 4670 Registered: Feb-06 | buy them both and then tell us what you like better. this could go on forever, everyones' tastes is different. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 197 Registered: Jul-06 | lol, icic. i guess the subs are similiar, just a matter of opinion of which is better. |
Silver Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 610 Registered: Nov-06 | I C 2 i just need contacts |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 199 Registered: Jul-06 | ya me to, according to that graph on ringo's post, the cvx's are louder. I will just buy them, they are cheaper as well. |
Silver Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 704 Registered: Mar-06 | i like kicker amps alot, esp the zx and sx series.... their subs...i know it's highly disputed, but i think they don't sound great and they're unreliable... HOWEVER....IF i were going to buy a kicker sub, i would definitely buy the cvx bc it sounds decent and gets loud and frankly is 100x more reliable than a L5/7 Watch RoE.com and caraudio.com and you'll see some nice SSDs come up for sale. I bought mine off of CHase Freeman on this site for a 300. SSD (overall) > CVX |
Silver Member Username: TatonkaPost Number: 419 Registered: Mar-07 | CVX will not take the abuse a SSD can take. It all depends on install. the ssd gets real loud and sounds incredible. But its your choice. |
Silver Member Username: camPost Number: 535 Registered: Nov-06 | and Nick would know SSDs will get loud. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 200 Registered: Jul-06 | i think i want the ssd's. I cant make my mind up. By the way, how much do the ssd's weigh, i saw the magnets on the back, their huge(just for curiosity) |
Silver Member Username: camPost Number: 542 Registered: Nov-06 | the SSDs would be a better investment in the long run. |
Silver Member Username: TatonkaPost Number: 422 Registered: Mar-07 | 30 pounds for 1 15 i think, its on their site. Just to give u an idea of how loud it is, I hit 143db legal with a TL on late night tip, And that was 1 15" with a hifonics 1206D on a stock charging system. Here is a vid (crappy video because i was rushing) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxsCI2EyCvo |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 201 Registered: Jul-06 | SSD's it is!! |
Gold Member Username: Freezeman_7C.FREE Post Number: 1339 Registered: May-06 | like cal said, he bought his off me, and i loved them, great SQ, pretty much amazing actually. |
Silver Member Username: NvmyboomPost Number: 202 Registered: Jul-06 | ok, i will buy the ssd's. how much will 750w rms push one sub? |
Gold Member Username: Freezeman_7C.FREE Post Number: 1347 Registered: May-06 | that would be techniccally underpowering it, but if you get a kciker 750.1 that would push that sub nicely |
Gold Member Username: OglejustPost Number: 1862 Registered: Aug-06 | hes getting 2 of them... however he has a stock charging system so he cant go much more than that. 2 ssd's it is |
