Good amp but MTX stuff is usually overpriced for what it is, compared other good brands.

Hey logan all of those amps you listed are rated at around 1200 watts but i need one that does 1500 at least right now im using a memphis 1100 watt amp so that would be dumb to spend extra money just for 100 watts that wouldn't be noticable so now that i think about it am i even going to notice a difference from 1100 watts to 1500 watts?

aren't you using a prd 1000.1d? if so that kicker will do more power than it, so will the ed. don't have personal experience with the orions' so i won't comment. both the kicker and ed will be closer to 1500wrms on a good charging system.

but like the others said, get the sundown amp.

yeah thats the amp im using but even though im going to go from 1100 watts to 1500 thats only a 400 watt difference so my question is "is it worth doing?" i mean will there be an audible difference or only if i got it metered because i remember lil rob telling me that for me to be able to hear the difference i had to double the power which that wouldn't be

Wow.... 68dB s/n I had to look that up to even believe it was true. Now you have to realize that a s/n close to 70 is not audible in a car environment, and it would be nearly impossible to tell the difference between an amp with a 90dB s/n and one with around 70dB, with everything else in the system being equal. But....it is an indicator of quality engineering and the parts that are used without a doubt.

I didn't realize that MTX had slipped that far but you would be hard pressed to find an amp with a noisier rating than that, assuming that rating was taken at full power and not one watt. Add in the fact that almost all manufacturers milk the crap out of their s/n ratio figures.... if that is all MTX could do, then that is one pile of shit right there.
