OK, SO I want to paint my box, can I do it with the subs still in it? maybe put masking tape around the outer part and paper over the sub itself? I'm gonna spraypaint it black, so colorwise that shouldn't hurt anything

yes u can do it like that but if you paint it you have to first use primer and then use a fine sand paper and sand it and let it dry.

from there apply another coat of primer let it dry again. and then hit the black paint. at the end you can use clear coat that gets your really good results :-)

but taking the subs aout will be alot easier and sometimes around the woofer youwill miss some spots :-)

if you dont use primer the box will look really crappy and the color will fade on some spots and the mdf wood will suck the paint making it look really crappy

just really don't want to go through all the trouble of removing the subs, but it sounds a lot easire if I do....so I got to get sandpaper (what grit?), spray on primer, and then whatever color I want to use too, right?oh, and clear coat to make it pretty at the end.

the grit doesnt really mater btu try to use the finest as you can.. i beilve theres 1000 grit or 800 that its called the fine sand paper use that. you wil only be needing a bottle of blackpaint or watever color you want a bottle of primer and finally the clear coat.

yes foloow the steps i told you when you get finished of sanding it let it dry apply the other coat let it dry make sure all is smooth when u end up with the primer if not add more coats of primer let it dry, then use the black paint, let it dry use another coat of paint let it dry and at the end use the clear coat.

the clear coat will make the black apint hard to come off and will give a finish that its really cool and shiny

bedliner is easy to use but doesnt looks as clean as painted like i told you,

the bed liner well you have to by a paint or beliner but it comes with a sealer i think . you have to use the sealant and like prime it. when you get done spraying the sealer you have to put the bed liner. some bed liners i think dont use the sealar.

leaf it in Pure gold FTMFW. Forget spray paint.

But if you were to paint, Prime, sand with 180-220 grit, then paint. If you want a mirror finish, sand with 800-1500-2000 then buff it out with rubbing compound then buff with wax. You will need a least 2-3 coats of paint for that. Oh, Use a palm sander. Smother finish.

BTW, Im gonna use Krylon paint, but its gonna be the chrome one, along with Krylon Primer, and Krylon Clear coat,
I'll see what I can do, If it doesn't look great, I can always paint over it with black, black covers everything

I like Binz, or kilz for primer. Dries quick and covers well. Krylon is more of an automotive paint aint it? idk, I always use binz or kilz for primer. Good luck.

How bout brushing on some tar and rolling it in feathers? :-)

HD has some "plastic" diamond plate too. Just glue it on for a street tough look. :-)

I think I'm gonna use kilz primer, I like it better, but as far as the chrome, it may not be Krylon, its something they have at walmart.

think its gonna be a negative on the chrome, I believe it would turn out silver, I'm probably gonna go with a greyish color to come close to the color of the interior of the trunk
