Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 711 Registered: Feb-06 | I love it. Amazing features, and so much fun to use. Not to mention in person it looks amazing. I will put some pictures of it up for you tonight. Some people have problems with engine noise coming through on it thought. And that is a very common problem with Pioneer HU's. But with a good install most of those problems can be fixed. And here is the pictures of the Enclosure/Amps/Crossovers all mounted. The box is 1.8 cubic feet tuned to 38hz. http://low-hz.com/Alpha%20Box |

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 13205 Registered: Oct-05 | nice and clean ben. there is a pioneer dealer near my work that gives me good deals on stuff. he told me $275 for that unit brand new. i think ima take it. |
Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 713 Registered: Feb-06 | Thats a very good price. Also, ask if you get the warranty. That would be good to have in case you are getting some engine noise and want Pioneer to fix it so you don't have to. |

Post Number: 3052 Registered: Mar-06 | " That would be good to have in case you are getting some engine noise and want Pioneer to fix it so you don't have to." Is that a common problem with pioneer? (Im getting ALT> wine....) i have my mid\highs amp\wires running all past my power cables right now.... i think its the cause... |
Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 714 Registered: Feb-06 | Yes, it is a very common problem with Pioneer HU's. But the good news is, with a good install it CAN be fixed!!! I highly doubt it is because you are running the RCA cables near the power wire. That has never been the case for me, but some people seem to think that is the problem. But here is a very good thread to help you out. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198477&highlight=880+whine |
Platinum Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 13220 Registered: Oct-05 | thanks for that link ben. my hu is fine but for some reason we couldn't get the whine out of his. we tried everything and still got the whine. we are gonna try this method this weekend. |
Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 715 Registered: Feb-06 | Grounding the RCA's and finding a new factory ground worked for me. Also, make sure the RCA's are shielded and most likely it will work. Good luck. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 4473 Registered: Jan-06 | the way the ground fuse blows in the unit in the first place is because people dont understand that the unit needs to be off before you start plugging in RCAs and stuff. |

Silver Member Username: ShowridesHartford, CT USA Post Number: 716 Registered: Feb-06 | That is true Mat, but that isn't the only way. Mine was in and working fine for about a month, then all of a sudden I was getting engine whine in my speakers. I am not sure what caused it all of a sudden, but it was easy enough to fix. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 4481 Registered: Jan-06 | that is strange just blowing of of nowhere after it was fine. i forgot to mention it also depends on the type of grounding system used in the amp. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Southeast PA Post Number: 2835 Registered: Jul-06 | I see that a lot on pioneer HUs..... it's the reason I no longer recommend them to people. |
Silver Member Username: camPost Number: 395 Registered: Nov-06 | just figured I'd let you know that your site isn't working. I can get to the Products page but then I click amplifiers or subwoofers and i get this: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Unknown MySQL Server Host 'rdb236.perfora.net' (1) in /homepages/15/d123948979/htdocs/SITE/commerce/catalog/includes/functions/databas e.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! |
