Car: 1988 Ford Escort GL Modifications: Replaced factory radio with Pioneer DEH-P6900UB. Want: A subwoofer system that'll give me good thumps when listening to bass heavy music (such as rap). What I'm looking at: Pioneer TS-W301R, Pioneer TS-W307R. And the amp?: That's why I'm here. Budget: I'd like to stay below $300. (I can get subs for roughly $100). I know there are alot better subwoofers out there, but when browsing through subs, I found that the Pioneers gave alot better hits as compared to an Alpine Type R. Granted, the Alpine looks like it'll last longer with the rubber seal and plastic cone. |

New member Username: SpiffyPost Number: 3 Registered: May-07 | I can get either of the Pioneers (both of them) for around $100. I know that the Type Rs are great, my buddy has 3 10" Type R's in his truck, and they sound great. My only thing is that I can get the Pioneers for cheap, and they gave a greater hit when I compared them. I used the same amplifier, same song, same everything, I just swapped the subs. The Pioneers hit harder, and gave more of a thump. My only problem is that the Type R's will last longer (rubber seal and cone), whereas the Pioneers have a foam & rubber (I think) seal. But I'm one who will take care of my sound system, and I'm just trying to figure out which Pioneer was better. Which is better: Pioneer TS-W301R or TS-W307R? Yes, the subwoofers and amplifier are all included in the $300. So I'm looking at [b]about[/b] $200 for an amp. Overall I need to know what the best amp is to run 2 subs, and which Pioneer subwoofer is better? I do want to stay open to input regarding subwoofers, but I think that $100 for two 12" subs isn't too bad. |

Direct sub swaps do not tell all. Just what will work best in the given enclosure with the given power. Was me? Id pick the Type aRRRRghhh. Tried, tested, proven loud. Before some idgit brings up Pioneers record. I will remind them that it was pioneers money that hit that number, not necessarily the sub. |

Try to match the rms of the subs to the rms of the amp. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp type in your info and that will tell you your options for wiring it... try to find a amp as close to this as possible. 200 dollars for an amp isn't much so ebay is probably going to be your best bet.
