I thought that was pretty funny.... suggested 300A inline.... that would mean it would need 13.3V at 100% efficientcy..... and 276A at 14.5V with 100% effientcy... at 85% efficientcy at 14.5V...317A

It does say Suggested. and IMO, it sounds about right. My amp suggests a 250A inline fuse. 300 for a 4k amp sounds about right. But main word "suggested". /end.
fuses can handle more power than rated for certain periods of time. most 300 amp fuses can take 125% of their rating all day, so fuse rating isnt a huge thing as long as its in the ballpark
