Right now I have a Pioneer DEH-P3800MP head unit, 2 Scosche Hyperdrive 12s in a sealed box and a Power Acoustik LT980 amp. I know it is not the highest quality stuff, but it was cheap and for the price it sounds surprisingly clean. My question is about the head unit, I want something with a higher rca output. The head I have now is only 2.5 volts, I'm trying to step up to at least 4 volts. My ideal budget is about $150, but I'm willing to step up to $200. I saw a lot of Kenwoods and Pioneers with at least 4 volt outputs, im jus wondering which brand will give me the most sound quality. Any help will be appreciated, thanks guys. |

I've owned the 4600 and 5800 Pioneers and currently run a Kenwood DVD unit. If I were looking at a new CD HU right now with 4V preouts I'd go with one of these. Of the two I'd probably go with the Pioneer purely on looks, they're going to be of similar quality and I honestly don't think you'd be dissapointed by iether. If you have the option, go and check them out for yourself at a store since with similar decks things like interface and ease of use become even more important. |

I had a head unit before wit 4 volt outputs and i could tell the difference, the gain on my amp was lower and the bass was cleaner. Im gonna look into those headunits and see if i can't find them cheaper, thanks again. |
