Bronze Member Username: Xfacta82Post Number: 48 Registered: Mar-07 | I have CDT speakers, and I need an amp to power them. I am looking at spending about 200 dollars, but nothing this cheap seems to put out much power, and if it does, it doesnt seem to be a good brand. Any suggestions? |

PPI, Orion, Directed, Alpine. all offer 50 watts x 4 channels @ 4 ohm amps for around $200 I believe. that's all the power you really need. It's a massive improvement over the 12 or 15 watts per channel the head unit can offer. |

This has nothing at ALL to do with the required power to reach full excursion, or full output with the speaker in question. Often the suggested power range for a speaker is substantially lower than it's RMS power handling spec. again, 75 watts per channel is going to be considerable power for 6.5" and smaller speakers. Especially if this is for music and daily driving, and not solely for SPL event competition |
