Vehicle... 2000 Cadillac Escalade box specs... 4 cubes tuned at 34hz amp specs... 1500 at 2 ohm sub specs... dual 4 wired to 2 ohm with the Treo my best sealed on the dash was a 143.2 today i decided to mess around and meter it and well to my suprise i hit a 144.5 with my cheap MA Audio 18 that people said cant be loud. on music i did a 144. so keep in mind the more expensive a woofer is doesnt mean its louder if your goin to be loud on a mic. heres the sub Proof for the non-believers. Silver Member Username: MmaudioconceptsMurray, KY Post Number: 112 Registered: Jan-07 | actually loudness and sound pressure level are two different things....if spl had anything to do with being loud,,,then tweeters would hit high numbers spl comps |
Gold Member Username: Wolfman1966WEST MONROE , LOUISIANA USA Post Number: 2341 Registered: Jan-06 | WOOPS My bad, i forgot it was Sound Pressure Level, not Loudness BTW why is spl measured in decibels if its not a measure of loudness? |

Sounds like the SSX needs a better box, because it is by far the superior woofer. Also, the Fosgate amp probably puts out more power than the MTX. |

Bronze Member Username: JtownPost Number: 45 Registered: Mar-07 | What is a TL? I got it metered at a local car audio shop, if that answers your question...lol |
Silver Member Username: SheriffPost Number: 257 Registered: Jan-07 | No that doesn't answer the question Justin. Glad to hear the MA hitting high numbers. I knew they were up there somewhere. My sister's boyfriend hit 144 with an MA1500XL 15", which is what I now have. I will get it metered soon hopefully. |
Bronze Member Username: JtownPost Number: 46 Registered: Mar-07 | "Justin was that on a TL??" ^So then what was he asking?^ |
Silver Member Username: SheriffPost Number: 260 Registered: Jan-07 | Yes, that is what he asked. Did you meter it on a TermLab? |
Gold Member Username: James1115Use a simple... Post Number: 9782 Registered: Dec-04 | there are a few different ways to meter it also Justin. You can run it with your doors open, windows down, doors shut and windows shut, on the dash, on the kick panel, on the port, there are many ways that effect the #'s you will hit. I assume you tested yours outlaw to get those #'s with those subs. |

Bronze Member Username: 2000ladeLafayette, IN United States Post Number: 18 Registered: Mar-07 | yes that was sealed on the dash DB Drag style. i managed to mic a 144.9 today sealed on the dash messing with box placement. i wouldnt post a score if it wasnt sealed on the dash because any other doesnt mean crap to me. |
Bronze Member Username: JtownPost Number: 47 Registered: Mar-07 | I sat in my car with the windows up and doors shut, the guy that worked at the place sat in the passenger seat and held the mic on his lap at first, and then moved the mic toward his feet, and then held it over the dash. I hit 'those #'s' when it was sitting in his lap. I didn't ask what kinda meter it was. And what is getting it tested outlaw? Thanks. |
