Gold Member Username: PitbullguyAscendant Audio Arsenals, Chicago What the phu... Post Number: 1158 Registered: Oct-06 | Now that i have my 680mp and arsenals running, the jeep infinity system is just unacceptable to me. Sounds like crap compared to the lows coming from the back. And the bass gets loud enuff that the lyrics are completely drowned out. Looking to spend around $300 for a set of components for up front and an appopriate amp to power em'. What would you guys reccomend for someone who wants really clear sound effects and vocals in hip-hop, house, dance type music. Ya know the bells, whistles, claps...mostly digitally reproduced sound effex. Would a soft or hard dome tweeter be more appropriate? What brands make good components? I've gone to the audio shop to listen to some examples, and i plan to do some more testing before buying, but still would like some advice. Thanks |

Gold Member Username: PitbullguyAscendant Audio Arsenals, Chicago What the phu... Post Number: 1160 Registered: Oct-06 | "...a little less fatigue at the end of the day." I'm not sure what you mean by that. Is that supposed to mean metal domes struggle with durability? |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 589 Registered: Dec-06 | I think he meant easier on the ears after a while of listening...correct me if I'm wrong |
Silver Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 641 Registered: Oct-04 | No. They give me a headache and sound quieter as the day progresses. Like, when you bump all day and it sound like it getting quieter and you wonder wtf....but the next morn its loud as he77? Fatigue. |

Gold Member Username: PitbullguyAscendant Audio Arsenals, Chicago What the phu... Post Number: 1164 Registered: Oct-06 | Interesting thanks for the heads up. I think i'm headed towards silk, seems like most people prefer them and if metal domes were better, more ppl would have em'. |

Still having a hard time deciding (these aren't my only ideas). So free bump for same interest. I'll be watching this thread. |
Silver Member Username: RiskybPost Number: 521 Registered: Feb-06 | Diamond Audio D6 components about 170$ off ebay Diamond Audio D3400.2 2 channel amplifier about 150$ That would be a great audiophile setup with plenty of power to get loud. I would say only amplify your front component speakers and not get a 4 channel amplifer. In a real setup you only have front stage. Just power rear speakers off the headunit for "rear-fill". |

Silver Member Username: Jgelp7New Orleans Post Number: 122 Registered: Dec-06 | where can you get Rainbows? I also have a Jeep with the infinity and a large sub beating the speakers up. I was looking at JL XR650, and I heard of Crystal, CDT, and Rainbow being good but I didnt know much about them. BTW, Pitbull, are you getting a component set and a seperate tweeter for the dash? |
Silver Member Username: Blazerboy15 $$D wangi... Post Number: 501 Registered: Jun-06 | Anybody want to comment on pitbulls sugestion? They look nice, and are pretty cheap. |
Gold Member Username: PitbullguyAscendant Audio Arsenals, Chicago What the phu... Post Number: 1171 Registered: Oct-06 | Jgelp i'm not sure what you mean...The component set comes with a pair of tweeters, do you mean a second pair of tweeters? The answer to that would be no. And from what i've heard trying to mount aftermarket tweeters in the jeeps dash tweeter mounts is harder than if you just mount them somewhere else. The chrysler infinity tweeter are very oddly sized i guess. "where can you get Rainbows?" good question gelp....anyone know? |
Silver Member Username: Jgelp7New Orleans Post Number: 123 Registered: Dec-06 | yea, i dont plan on getting other tweeters either, but on wjjeeps.com (website all jeep owners should know) they have installations and upgrades, one of which they installed comps in the door and put another tweeter on the dash, 1 woofer 2 tweeters. and bump for rainbows and a thumbs up/down on the CDT's Pitbull linked. |

Gold Member Username: AlteraudiousaConcord Post Number: 1521 Registered: Jan-06 | well if you posted in the appropiate section you may get more responses, but PM me if interested in CDT. i would suggest the CL-62. But i'd save a little more to get a quality amp or look for a killer deal on ebay. |

Gold Member Username: PitbullguyAscendant Audio Arsenals, Chicago What the phu... Post Number: 1177 Registered: Oct-06 | well then no need to save more...i'm 21, i work full time, and i'm a saver not a spender. My bank account isn't running on fumes, I could drop 2 grand on some comps and an amp if i wanted to, but i don't. Mat if i decided to stretch to $350, what did you have in mind? |
Gold Member Username: PitbullguyAscendant Audio Arsenals, Chicago What the phu... Post Number: 1178 Registered: Oct-06 | and alter, i understand your suggestion about posting in the appropriate secion...but unfortunately that's the main problem on ecoustics...the subwoofers section DOMINATES the other car audio sections. Whenever i've posted in the amp, speakers, or head units sections...i've gotten little to no feedback. ecousticsfam FTW!!! |

AFOAF won a sound quality competition using focal component sets and after that he was recognized then got sponsored and he replaced his thousands of dollars worth of focal components with the pioneers after they began sponsoring him and he says that after final tuning he could not tell a difference between the two sets... im probably going to upgrade to them soon since they are priced so well... |
