Silver Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 346 Registered: Mar-06 | I was reading up on a JL 1000/1 and unlike most amps it says it does 1000watts@1.5-4 ohms.....does this mean it will stay at 1000 through all those impedances, or does JL just not say that itll do 1400 wat 1.5 and 800 at 4 ohms or somethin bc most amps say 1000@2 ohms or w/e not 1.5-4. Are JL amps just phenomenally efficient or what? Any explanations? JW -Thanks |

Silver Member Username: HockeyknightPost Number: 973 Registered: Apr-06 | its a regulated power supply so u will always get 1000w |

Idk if this is on JLaudio.com, prolly is haha, but would it be safe to run a 1000/1 at 1 ohm or would most of you not wanna risk burning out your amp. |
Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 3669 Registered: Feb-06 | i've seen them attempt to run at 1ohm. the few times i have they went into protect pretty quickly. |
Bronze Member Username: Rob1083Post Number: 52 Registered: Mar-07 | for that price i wouldn't risk it |
Gold Member Username: James1115Use a simple... Post Number: 9687 Registered: Dec-04 | any sub that you need to run at 1 ohm you can also run it at 4 ohms so why take the risk when you get 1000 watts whether its 2 ohms or 4ohms or 1 ohm power is power. |
New member Username: Dakangofkrunk16Post Number: 9 Registered: Mar-07 | that amp is basically made for jl audio w7 because of the 1.5 impedance load and to be honest the lower the ohms the better it seems to be according to ohms law http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/594.pdf |

And it would only be better for getting more power out of your amp. This amp has the same output from 1.5-4 ohms. Do you honestly think that JL's are the only subs with a different ohm load other than your basic 2 ohm and 4 ohm subs? My subs are dual .7 ohm. |
