I was reading up on a JL 1000/1 and unlike most amps it says it does 1000watts@1.5-4 ohms.....does this mean it will stay at 1000 through all those impedances, or does JL just not say that itll do 1400 wat 1.5 and 800 at 4 ohms or somethin bc most amps say 1000@2 ohms or w/e not 1.5-4. Are JL amps just phenomenally efficient or what? Any explanations? JW -Thanks

thanks guys, gotta love the question being answered in less than 10 minutes.

Idk if this is on JLaudio.com, prolly is haha, but would it be safe to run a 1000/1 at 1 ohm or would most of you not wanna risk burning out your amp.

any sub that you need to run at 1 ohm you can also run it at 4 ohms so why take the risk when you get 1000 watts whether its 2 ohms or 4ohms or 1 ohm power is power.

that amp is basically made for jl audio w7 because of the 1.5 impedance load and to be honest the lower the ohms the better it seems to be according to ohms law http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/594.pdf

It would be better if we werent talking about this particular amp. And it would only be better for getting more power out of your amp. This amp has the same output from 1.5-4 ohms. Do you honestly think that JL's are the only subs with a different ohm load other than your basic 2 ohm and 4 ohm subs? My subs are dual .7 ohm.
