i just got a alpine type x component speaker set and i am looking to get some 10 or 12 inch subs in the near future, i have the componets installed on my rear dash and i would like to get a amplifier for them that i will be able to hook my subs up to when i get them. the components are 4 speakers will i need a amp so i could run a channel to each mid and tweeter set and then i have two channels left over for the subs??
your components will run off 2 channels. You can either get a 4 chan and bridge the 2 rears to a sub, but depending on the amp you wont get much more then 300-400 watts typically doing this. The best bet is a 2 chan for your mids and tweets and a separate mono amp for your sub.
thanks for the advice i talked to my boss who used to be a master installer and he suggested the same thing, im going to order one 10" alpine type x sub and a mono amp and then get a two channel later
