A friend has one that worked fine 'out of the box' for more than a year. One day they turned it on and the picture was terrible -- very blurred and 3 separate images. The display was too blurred to read/use the standard menu. By loosening the screws holding the individual crts, we were able to move each and, at least, get clear images but they are misalligned horizontaly. Other posts on this board provided info about using the remote control to get a service menu (mute, 1, 8, 2) but we have not been able to succeed as yet. Using the standard menu selections, we did manage to bring up the screen to attempt adjusting the 9-point convergance. we can select the color guns and grid positions OK but none of the control buttons move the cursor to adjust convergance. Any help will be MUCH appreciated. No idea why the display went out of whack. No warning. They did tell me a phone splitter for DSL was replaced about the time the TV went bonkers but they are not sure if it was just befor or after. Shouldn't directly affect the TV but the say DISH NETWORK requires a phone connection. The TV had not been bumped or moved and there had been no electrical outages or storms to cause the problem. We live rural so availability of tech assistance is as much a problem as the expense.
