Silver Member Username: Impala63ragDD 9512s , Orion d5000 Post Number: 640 Registered: Sep-06 | LOGAN, I'm not sure if i need one 'em or not, but if I do I was hoping you might be able to help me. This new car I'm getting has a trunk that's 39 x 39. Both my boxes are exactly 39 inches wide. So I'm not sure if their gonna fit. It's a tight squeeze. I was thinking two longer smaller enclosures, Maybe 2cu. ft.. subs firing towards the wheels, and ports meeting at the center armrest opening. I would want a double baffle, and braced. What ya think? |

Gold Member Username: JohnfiacIL Afghanistan,... Post Number: 1639 Registered: Mar-06 | wheels? like firing sideways so the motors on each sub basically meet but with a gap between em? i unno...? lol Logan... i think im gunna scratch the plans with you for now.. im gunna experiment :-p i keep hearing DIY this DIY that... so im gunna DIM IMO its gunna b a b!tch but ehhh... i thinkkkkkk i got it right... but can you explain to me how you calculate how long the port would be and how much port area is needed for different tuning? Specifically im looking for more of 46hz and 30-40hz the box I designed from DJ plans looks right..but ehhhhhhhhhhhhh i still want tips to make sure its right... 40hz in 5.286cu for each 15... sound like a good daily SPL box for 9515g's with 3Krms to each? |

Silver Member Username: Impala63ragDD 9512s , Orion d5000 Post Number: 641 Registered: Sep-06 | yeah, firing towards the wheels. Two of these boxes, but with the ports sitting in front of the armrest hole of the back seat. Of course on the other box, the sub would be firing the opposite direction. |
Silver Member Username: Impala63ragDD 9512s , Orion d5000 Post Number: 642 Registered: Sep-06 | or maybe a clean, t-line design! The boxes i have now are pretty much square in size. they are gonna be too wide to fit between the wheel wells. So i will need a rectangular sized enclosure like the one above or a T - line. It would be nice to have the port firing into the cab of the car though. And just another section of the baffle cut to make it double think. |
