Thats right this file will convert your Pansat2500A Clone to a 2700.

WARNING DO NOT LOAD IN A REAL PANSAT 2500A JUST CLONES.

The real Pansat 2500A only has 1meg the clones have 2meg.

This is why its safe for clones only. Make sure you load clone safe file in after you jtag.

1. You have to J-Tag it

2. THIS FILE IS ONLY ABLE TO BE J-TAGED. NOT SERIAL CABLE.

3. Channel master will reconize the box as a 2700 once loaded with file.

4. You use your straight thru cable (The same cable you have used with this box from day one) It will not work with a null cable.

5. If you load a channel list you have to select 2700a or 3500.

6. This file is supose to work for both providers of intrest. I use mine on 91 & 82.

Feal free to leave feedback here for others. This file is really cool.

McSunny: Did you read this thread before?

Is the file posted at tryfta.com a better version than the h version in CCC? Or is it something different?

Hey,

Is there any way where I can convert my Fortec Lifetime Ultra into a Pansat 2700 without J-Tagging.

This file may only be loaded by jtag!!! It will not work with Serial. I have a jtag zip file posted at the bottom

Here is a brief step by step: for use with the following bin.

remove cover off of Pansat 2500, or FLU, and some clones. Hook jtag cable to the receiver. Plug in and turn on receiver. Open Wall Program. Ignore the warning. Click Refresh. Then leave wall running, and open Jkeys Program. When jkeys pops up, go to File>Preference> then select Parallel Port. Port setting of 0x378. Then click "OK." Next select the IRD Model and choose Pansat 2700. Then Click on Flash Programming. Then in the Chip/Sector Programming, Click on Erase, and erase whole flash. Then Click on Program, and select the bin Vor_Mi.bin. Wait for flash to complete. Then Close all programs and reboot your receiver. You will see one series of Night Rider Lights, and it will freeze on the last light. Wait about 30 seconds for the box to boot up. The bin has a channel list in it already. DO NOT DO A FACTORY SETTING! You may delete the channels in channel edit and then scan your birds. Wait for keys to roll and you are watching both DN and --- again with working AR. You now have a Pansat 2700.

My questions:

How stable is the conversion?
Can same remote control be used after conversion?
Is there anyone out here in Vancouver BC area who knows how to do it and who could help me (I mean do it for me as I don't know how to jtag). Thanks in advance.

Soon, there will be no new bins for Pansat 2500 receivers. Which means no Pansat 2500 clones will work because they use Pansat 2500 bins. Pansat 2700 are still common and popular. Which means they'll last for another 3 or 4 years. So, that's why the coders are offering people with Pansat 2500 Clone receivers to convert their receiver into Pansat 2700 so they don't have to buy a new receiver. I'm gonna wait for my Fortec STAR Lifetime Ultra to finally die, which means no new Pansat 2500 bins and then I'll convert it to Pansat 2700. My friend converted his Fortec STAR Lifetime Ultra into Pansat 2700 and he said everything is fine, fast, and the EPG is little bit better than before.

hi AV,

Thanks for a very knowledgeable note on this burning issue.
My receiver is Pansat 3000 as printed on the outerside and therefore, it is 2500 clone. How do I know it has 2 mb storage?

Two questions about converting the 2500 clone to Pnsat 2700.....
1. After converting the 2500 clone to a Pnsat 2700, are you saying that the 2500 clone remote can be used?
2. What bin file should be used there after, I guess it should be the 2700 clone safe bin...
Can anyone confirm?
