New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 1 Registered: Feb-07 | Please help.i have a dish 500 pro dual lnb, had one pansat 2700 connected with all the 110 and 119 channels, just connected a second receiver and ran a new wire to the second output on the dual lnb...When i blind scan on the second receiver i can not get all the channels.any ideas what i am doing wrong, thanks... |
Gold Member Username: PrfrmnjPost Number: 2111 Registered: Oct-05 | Mike - Is it a DishProPlus Twin or a DishPro Twin LNB? This make a difference and without that info I can't help. By the way, what is your antenna setup? It should be: LNB Type = DishPro DISEcQ: 119 = 1 110 = 2 Last but not lest, in order to do a perfect scan go to this thread and read how to do it. https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-video/325574.html |

Gold Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 7884 Registered: Jan-06 | Mike ...be specific...exactly what do U mean by "cannot get all the channels".? also try reversing the cables on the LNB...see what happens to your now good working pansat 2700, then that should give u an idea of any problems..cable-connection-LNB output bad-software-new scan needed etc,, |
New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 3 Registered: Feb-07 | well one thing i have noticed is that on the pansat that is not scanning all the channels as the original one, when i go to antenna setup and i go to either echo 7 or 8, under the TP's when i get to the higher numbers, like the 13000 , the quality seems to go all the way down,,,, not sure if that will help at all, but i am going to read Prfrmnj's thread and also try what LK said and switch the cables to see if there might be a cabling issue,,,, i will post back in a little bit after i see what happens, thanks alot |
Gold Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 7886 Registered: Jan-06 | U know if the newer receiver has a much longer cable run, that could create a difference also..and use RG6, not R59 cable for long runs.. |
Silver Member Username: TapemanPost Number: 594 Registered: Oct-06 | For dual/Twin LNB don't choose dish pro option Don't do blind scan If your antenna set-up allows you to choose: Legacy twin LNB-1 for 119 DISEqC -1 Legacy twin LNB-2 for 110 DISEqC -2 Just do Chan Sat Scan without blind scan Set-up one sat at a time |
New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 4 Registered: Feb-07 | hey Lk, i switched the cables and now the original box is not getting any or little quality on the channels that are in the 13000 tp range. and the new box i hooked up running now on the original cable is getting everything......you think its is just the quality of the cable , i did have to use a connector at one point cause the cable was too short...... |
Gold Member Username: PrfrmnjPost Number: 2118 Registered: Oct-05 | You hava a bad cable or connectors. You'll need to change that cable. It may just be the terminals, but if you can, just change the cable |
New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 5 Registered: Feb-07 | just curious to why i can get the lower tp mhz. channels and not the ones in the 13000's. does the gauge of the cable mean anything as far as tp's are concerned.. thanks |
Silver Member Username: TapemanPost Number: 595 Registered: Oct-06 | Connector I think one of your LNB outlet connector is fried It is like a 2 input DISEqC Internal damage to DISEqC switch But like PRF said can also be bad cable My guess you just fried one of 2 LNB outlets |
Gold Member Username: PrfrmnjPost Number: 2119 Registered: Oct-05 | It does for signal strenght. If your cable runis longer with the lower gage cable then you will lose n strenght and quality on some TPs. |
Silver Member Username: TapemanPost Number: 597 Registered: Oct-06 | Just use RG-6 (Quad shield) cables But believe me I can smell the burned DISEqC You plugged the cable while receiver on Voltage from receiver smoked the little coil inside DISEqC The most you can use these LNBs for 1-Reciver Please tell me if my guess is wrong I'm building-up my psychic power |
New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 6 Registered: Feb-07 | hey King,,,,i am getting alot of channels but just not the ones in the higher tp range, like from 13100 and up, which are like all the ppv and others....if the diseqc switch was burnt, wouldnt i not get any channels at all ? i guess i need to know this cause i do not wanna buy a new cable if i need just a new dual LNB..? |
Gold Member Username: LklivesPost Number: 7888 Registered: Jan-06 | The higher the TP, the weaker the signal...so use RG6 and U will have no problems, if connections and connectors are good...and cable run is not 200 feet or more..generally speaking I don't believe the LNB output or internal switch is bad, cause usually they either work or NOT...its possibly a bad output on the LNB, but not probable.. at least now u know its NOT a receiver or software issue...and everything is just a process of elimination...yours appears to be a simple fix with new cable directly from LNB to receivers.. |
New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 7 Registered: Feb-07 | thank you Lk and others,,,,,Your right, thankfully it is not the receiver.. well i am going to check the connectors and hopefully it is just that, if not i will be going to the store to buy a higher quality cable,,,,, thanks again everyone and i will hopefully write back with the fix asap...... thanks again... |
New member Username: MikeybklynUsa Post Number: 8 Registered: Feb-07 | ok, it's fixed, Lk, so it was the distance like u said,... i checked the two connectors, the cable from the roof was a smaller gauge and it was about 100 feet and then a connector and then another cable that was 100 feet and then finally the second connector to the last cable which was about 35 feet...so i basically eliminated the middle 100 feet cable,, it was an old cable from the cable company that went all the way around the house and made it in my house, so originally i just connected the cable from the roof to that to make it easier and eliminate making another hole in my house,i was able to for now connect the 35 foot cable out my window to the one right on the roof, well to shorten this long response, it works now... so i appreciate all the knowledge and help from everyone... lesson learned tonight about cabling and distance.... thanks again everyone......... |
