I know this has been answered before but I cannot find the thread. Please do not bash me.
I am looking for a new receiver. I understand from earlier positng by LK that Magnumview Extreme is the best choice in the market. The guy I want to buy from has Viewsat Ultra and says that it is a waste of money to go in for the ultra and extreme since the additional features is not worth the extra cost. What am I getting extra for the additional money I am spending
One of the most important things to consider is support. Viewsat has great support. When a major ecm comes again, it's very likely that if a fix is available, Viewsat will have it first. I cannot comment on a Magnumview because I know very little about it. But sometimes the extra bucks might be worth it in the long run. What is the price difference? Can get an ultra for about $180.00, free shipping. An extreme for about $20 less.
They are BOTH very good with great support...The Viewsat Ultra is more user friendly regarding USB ports and newer computers..and U can also load it without the need for cables or moving the receiver etc by use of a inexpensive simple USB stick..
I have to agree that they are great receivers but I prefer to use the Sonicview 1000 or the Captive Works 600 receivers. Sonicview has the same support as Viewsat and Captive Works also has great support for there system. Both of these are great recievers and are cheaper than the Ultra and Magnum.
Just bought an Extremeview Magnum to replace an aging FLU for dear old dad. Great receiver... Works very well and has some great features. Best of all he's not calling me every day to fix his receiver anymore!
I would agree with ASP. I bought 1 a while back, had to upgrade my bro and sister so i got them each one. They are lovin it, real easy to program(flash).
