If i need to record any program from the satellite does any recievers have built in program recorder or i need to get a separate dvr.. kindly let me know thanks.
I use a stand alone dvd recorder with built in hard drive, can edit and burn onto dvd disc's to lend and for my collection. It's cheaper and better than a pvr. Also compatible with all recievers and cable boxes, and can copy other discs, photo and cd's.
You are absolutely right. There is also the addded advantage that if the dvd recorder does not work, you can get it repaired independently and the receiver is still with you and vice versa.
Don't use remotes. Ur DVD remote may have some keys that affect the sat receiver nearby. Ur last setup won't record anyting, U need a tuner to tune the channel. DVD records only selected channel coming out from the sat rec.
CW-100R Captive Works PVR add on Use this to add a PVR function to your Captive Works 600S and Captive Works 600S Premium Series FTA receiver (or other receiver as well). For Captive Works units it will also add USB bin loading function and offer better integration with guide for PVR function. With Captive Works Receiver you can schedule a show through the epg and when the time comes, the recorder will automatically start recording and when it finishes, the recorder automatically stops.
You will need to add your own Storage Space, it will accept USB 2.0 Compliant External Hard Drive or USB Flash Drive. Suggested Retail $129 alone and it will also be priced lower as part of a combo package including a Captive Works 600-S Premium. Attached you will find complete specs and pics.
