Bronze Member Username: Ulshy55Post Number: 15 Registered: Jan-07 | ok I got these subs last week. They are 2 12" MTX subs in an enclosure. They are both 200W 4 ohm(written on the subs themselves). Here is a link to them: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=510&I=236RT12X2A Here is the specs on them(on a sticker on the sub box): - 400 RMS Power - 800 Peak power - 4 ohm nominal - 92 db @ 2.83/1m - 48 - 150 Hz I was recommended this amp: http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=120&gc lid=CLeZ7__o_4kCFShSPgodax6rSQ Will this one work? or can someone recommend another for under $200? I'm not sure if the speakers are in series or parallel. I think they ar in parallel. Only one sub is connencted to the point where i would connect the amp. One sub is wired to the other at both + and - then the wires go from that sub ( the one that the other connects to) to the point where you hook up the amp. Can anyone help please. Thanks a lot. |

Bronze Member Username: Ulshy55Post Number: 16 Registered: Jan-07 | I have some Questions "6 12's" 1. My subs are labeled 200W, will i have any chance of reallly blowing them with this amp(the one you recommended)? 2.Will the amp power them sufficiently enough? 3. How used is it? Is there anything wrong with it? 4. What comes with it? Just the amp? 5. Can you explain to me how the 2ohm thing works. Since both subs are 4 ohm and i think they are in parallel(are they?) how does the whole ohm thing work. Thanks |
