i have a PG RSd 1200.1 mono amp and i was thinking about getting two subs, but when i look at the amp, there is only one set of positve and negative connectors. Does this mean i cant run two subs to this amp and only one? Are mono amps meant for only one subs? (hence the word mono)Sorry but i just dont want to end up buying something i cant return so I have to know.

hence the term "mono"

you just have to know what configuration your subs' voice coils need to be in order to get the impedance you want.

that amp is 1000-1200w at 2 ohms.
If you're getting a pair of subs you need either single 4 ohm voice coils, or dual 2 ohms.

you'd wire them like this...

and they need to be able to handle at least 500w rms a piece.

The answer to your question about "mono" is NO. You can run more than one sub on a Mono amp. Just in case you couldn't figure that out by Optidriven's posts
