I need someone to measure for me that max size a box could be to fit under there. Im looking to build something like this for my buddy thats in iraq and his truck is in storage and i cant measure it. http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/1841/dscf0137fd1.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/9580/dscf0138gh8.jpg Its gonna be for a fully loaded 12" BL from FI. He was running a 12" MAG in it and said it didnt hit the bottom of the seat when it was down. the top it double baffled to help flush mount it. He said its 2.0tuned to 33hz. I want to tune to around 35hz or so for my buddy. |

Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1181 Registered: Nov-04 | how tall in the gap in the center? |
Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1182 Registered: Nov-04 | i need to see how this is gonna work out lol and be like he said. I may have to lift his rear seats up 2" |
Gold Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 1435 Registered: Apr-05 | 3.5" |

Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1184 Registered: Nov-04 | I just ordered the brackets to lift the rear bench up 3" |
Gold Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 1437 Registered: Apr-05 | Whats your dimmensions so far? How much volume do you hvae in CF or liters? |
Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1185 Registered: Nov-04 | i dont know thats why i asked. I cant get to the truck its in storage while he is in iraq. I just added 3" to what you gave me so i will be good im sure. lets do some figuring to see what i get and what you get. Im gonna do 10" For the height all around. |
Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1186 Registered: Nov-04 | i figure 2.968 internal dimensions. ive never done pvc ports so i dont know how to figure them yet. need to tune this enclosure to around 35hz or so. |

Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1187 Registered: Nov-04 | 3/4 MDF. I will need to double baffle to top piece so i can flush mount the sub some. I actually need to do about 9" on the height and double baffle to keep the sub away from the bottome of the seat. |
Gold Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 1439 Registered: Apr-05 | If you use the outside dimmensions of 10 X 57.5 X 14, and use 3/4" thick wood, your inside dimmensions are 8.5 X 56 X 12.5 = 5950 The center cutout outside dimmensions are 3.5 X 15.5, so your inside dimmensions would be 4.25 X 17 = 72.25 Now subtract 5950 - 72.25 = 5877.75 Now divide 5877.75 / 1758 = 3.34343 CF* You still need to subtract driver and port displacement. I do not have BassBoxPro6 on the comp I have now, otherwise I would help you. Ask arround and see what you need. |

I wish i could get to this freaking truck to maybe i could design a box for this freaing 12" sub. Downfiring would be great. |

Gold Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 1441 Registered: Apr-05 | Im guessing that the only way the supercrewsound can get 2.6 CF is if they use 5/8" thickness and slant the box from 9" front to 7" back. My configurations above are all using 3/4" thickness, and no slant, just squared up like you said. |

Gold Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 1191 Registered: Nov-04 | yea i guess i could slant it. |
Gold Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 1443 Registered: Apr-05 | Be carefull with your design. The slant only offers you the option to get away from rasing the seat. You need to design it so that the woofer doesnt bottom out. I have an 02 GMC Sierra extended cab and I built two separate boxes instead of one with a cutout for the center hump. I have one 8" firing forward in each box, so thats why I was able to use the entire space. If you wanna do a 12", you cant install it firing forward, you have to install it on top, bottom, or slanted at the end. Each design has its complications and limitations. Be smart. Measure twice, and cut once. |

Gold Member Username: MixneffectOrangevale, Ca. USA Post Number: 1446 Registered: Apr-05 | You know, at midnight my time, I guess I was too wore out, and I miscalculated. If you look above where I made the 4.25 X 17 = 72.25, I forgot to include the third measurement of the cube which is 14. So it should have been; 4.25 X 14 X 17 = 1011.5 So then the box CF would be smaller as well. 4725 - 1011.5 = 3713.5 3713.5 / 1758 = 2.1123435 CF* This was on the last calculation with the dbl front baffle and a 9" height. |
