"Commandments posted in public places." America has opened its arms 2 many religions....unfair 2 now claim Christianity is dominant by placing commandments in places that should be judicially fair and religion-neutral. "You still say Christmas" This has been taken way out of context by right-wing ideologues like Bill O'Reilly - the argument is never about being offended by Christmas.....it's simply that "happy holidays" is an inclusive comment, and "Christmas" is exclusive, only applies 2 Christians....no one's offended by it though. For example, what is the purpose of saying Merry Christmas, to some person who is Sikh, Muslim, Jewish, Buhddist etc..? I'm certain none of them are offended though. You bow your head when someone prays. Some people are not religious....will we bow when the Muslims pray? "place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem" It may be a respect issue....but we should respect those who desire to pay tribute differently. "treat Viet Nam vets with great respect, and always have." - Let's start treating ALL PEOPLE with respect. "You've never burned an American flag" -- Burning flags is a fire hazard, i don't see why people get all caught up in symbols that don't feed any of us. "You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening" -- I think this one just means u are smarter than most...but it won't make anyone "American". A bigger compliment would be 2 say that: You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to listen 2 other viewpoints because that is how society makes progress. "You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same" If we just learn 2 show respect for ALL PEOPLE, we won'r have 2 remind children 2 be particularly respectful 2 elders, or vets. "You'd give your last dollar to a friend" I'm not so sure about this one, but i can say that many other cultures and nationalities have shown just as much, if not more, compassion for the needy....a fairer system for example. "This is excellent, no matter what you deem fit to call it. It is our country, it is our way of LIFE, and I love it" -- This is an opinion and no one should find argument with it.
