Enter "Pansat 2500" inside the STB Model area/section.

sami d: You have the right BIN and the right uploader. You have to use a straight RS232 cable. Are you sure about your cable?

sami...

For the cable it is not matter of "Fit" into the receiver & computer, the difference is inside the cable, RS232 has the pins connected in a 1 to 1 between connectors while RS232C that is the crossed cable has the pins 2 & 3 inverted....

The cable you are using was the cable that came with the 2500 at the time you bought it???

good, it's not suppose to. The way i can tell which one is which is by looking at the color of the outer 9 holes. my straight cable is blue, i use that 4 my pansat 2500. The null cable is black, i use that 4 my sonicview 1000

Be sure you don't have any other application that uses the com port, like a palm sync device or anything similar.....

sami d : It does not matter about the type of cable you have. It is clear to me that you do not know if it is straight RS232 or Null. Just go to Radio Shack and get a 9 pin M/F null adapter. Then you can use the two (i.e. the adaptor and cable) together or the cable separately for the upload. One way it will work.
Make sure that have your two hands ready - first you switch on the receiver, then you start the software with the mouse.
Best of luck, and happy viewing.

ok so to make sure things are clear:
i should use BL 1.4 which i have
and the bin called X-85BL_070105_287T_db_api(N)which i also downloaded
and i should get this 9 pin M/F null adapter.

r u sure it is not the uploader or maybe i have to go to this menu -- user menu -- s/w load or something which i guess is maybe for uploading bins any way plz. follow up on this and sorry to bother

thanx.

If you have a cable which could be straight RS232 or null and you do not know, you can put a meter on it and try to see the pin out or more simply buy a null adapter. The adpator will not increase the length (distance). Then if your orignal cable is straight, on its own it will be the same and with the adaptor it will become null. If your cable happens to be null, on its own it will remain null and with the adaptor it will become staight.
Happy connecting. Happy viewing.

To be precise on the sex of the cable. The cable is usually 9 pin F/F and the adpator you will buy is a null adaptor 9 pin M/F

Hi Nalin,
My friend has a Pansat 3500SD. Today he tried to load new bin X-05BL_070104_B80_306_api using 3.40 loader. While downloading, the receiver was showing much higher number than downloading progress on PC screen and receiver screen finally reached to 116% and on PC it stucked on 99% and failed after sometime. We tried it few times but no luck. Could you please help on this matter.
Many thanks in advance.

Thanks LK,
I was reading at DSSTester about this bin and most of the people said that this bin killed their receiver. What do you recommend?

Thanks again,

The bin 306 is NOT a killer when loaded properly, using the b80 boot file and loader 35.01 first!...and the SD card makes it much simpler and easier, after using the cable for the initial b80 boot file upload....thousands using b80 bins, such as 306 daily now..and ALL sites have the "how to upload" instructions, which is very simple...problem is that most don't know what they are doing cause they don't read the how to's!

I will say that I am NOT fond of Pansat or BL, and their software... the old Pansat 2500 was great when FTA was just getting popular a couple years ago, but Pansat has gone down hill IMO, ever since...the 3500 and using the SD card was a great idea, but Pansat BL software has not kept up the pace and is lagging way behind... and this past malicious code crap by BL is intentional, for more sales, IMO..

So, all he needs is 306 bin and 35.01 loader?

I believe I just answered your question..

NO...U need the b80 boot file, 35.01 loader, lastest 3500 bin, P3500 receiver, cables and connections, SD card, dish with LNB's, possibly a switch, keys, correct receiver settings ...and MOST IMPORTANTLY "KNOWLEDGE"!

Sam: The following is a c/p from Pansatusa.

Instruction b-80 (Dec 17, 2007) upgrade from b-70 (May 26, 2006) for model 3500S/SD

All new api file versions announced after Nov 20, 2006 can be applicable with 3500S/SD model upgraded boot version b-80. We named 3500S/SD (b-80). When power off and on, front LED display b-80 shortly and then 'ON' or channel number like '0123' etc. means the receiver already upgraded to b-80 model. If it shows b-70 shortly before 'ON', it means you need upgrade to b-80 version. If it shows b-70 constantly, the unit should be repaired first by boot method downloading May 26, 2006 api file. Refer to below b-80 trouble shooting guide which is same method except api file version.
1. b-80 upgrade needed only one time for each receiver.
2. RS 232 null modem cable data transfer method should be used (SD memory card not usable). Read below trouble shooting guide.
3. Open the Loader v35.01 (Pansat 3500S/SD). Check PC COM port to be right one.
4. Click browser and open 'boot_Itc80' file. Boot file only will be selected automatically.
5. Connect RS232 null modem cable between PC and the 3500S/SD receiver.
6. Turn the receiver power ON and wait at least 10 seconds until front LED shows 'ON' or channel number.
7. Click download and wait 'Download completed, OK' appears on the PC screen.
8. If error appears, try all above procedure again.
9. Verify the receiver front LED shows b-80 which means the unit is ready to download any api file version dated on or after Nov 20, 2006 by data cable ( Dec 17, 2006 is most updated). If it shows b-70, try again.
10. Select api file dated Dec 17,2006 and click download. After download completed, the unit will display 'ON' after b-80 shortly.
11. After above procedure completion, any future api file upgrade can be done by SD memory card.

Trouble shooting when b-80 shows constantly and not changing to 'ON' or any channel number on the front LED.
In this case the receiver lost all memory data but boot file is still alive condition. To fix the unit to normal condition, have to execute boot method download from PC to receiver by using null modem cable (SD memory card not usable).
Method 1.
1. Open the Loader v_ 35.01 (Pansat 3500S/SD) and select api file only.
2. Click browser and open Dec 17, 2006 (v. b80-02) api file.
3. Turn the receiver power off and on, within 1-2 seconds b-80 appears on front LED display click 'download' and wait until 'Download completed OK' appears.
4. During download, dots moving left to right will be displayed on the front LED.

Method 2.
1. Turn the receiver power off.
2. Click download first and then turn the receiver power ON.

Warning
1. Do not interrupt the receiver power until download completed appears on the PC.
2. If method 1 not works, try method 2.
3. Even tried several time, still not works or front LED completely dead, send back to Panarex for repair.
4. Do not try to download boot b-70 again. b-70 version works only old version api files before Nov 19,2006 version.
5. If b-70 shows constantly, have to fix the unit first by using old version api file (dated on or before Nov 19, 2006) and boot method download. Same GTRom Loader v35.01 can be used. If the fix done, the unit will display ON after b-70 shows shortly. Then make upgrade b-80 version and download api file with Nov 20, 2006 or after version.
