Hi, I just received a DishNetwork dish and a pansat 3500sd. I want to set this up and have no idea where to start. I understand I need software, but cant see to find it for free. Can anyone give a novice (non technical) person a hand? Thanks.

Here is a little information to get you going in the right direction.

Out of the box, you won't be able to get dish or bev. You will need to flash your box with the updated firmware (known as the bin). Once you do this, you have to scan for the channels, or install a channel list (this is easier).

Go to future-fta dot info to get these files. Make sure that you browse to the 3500SD section to get the appropriate files. You will also find the software for directly updating the firmware through the supplied serial cable but if you already have the b-80 screen on startup, you can just use the SD card.

Install the SD card in the SD card slot of your box and turn in on. The box should format the card and create directories named "Code", "MP3" and "Channel Data". Now remove the card and an SD card reader to access the card. You must unzip the firmware update file (bin) and copy it to the "Code" directory. If you use a channel list, you must unzip and copy to the "Channel list" directory.

Turn on the box, and use the remote to navigate to the SD menu. Update the firmware first (data restore). The system will reboot. Now update the channel list the system will reboot again.

At this point, you should see "wait for picture". Hopefully in a few minutes after that, you'll be watching TV. Good luck

Oh yeah, after you copy the files, remove the SD card from the reader and then put it back in the 3500SD before trying to update the firmware.

I went to the future-fta site, and I scrolled to the pansat 3500 section, there are no posts found, hence no file available for me. Thanks for the direction, tho.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
