So I have the 1973 Pioneer now, it needs a cleaning. I have nonresidual contact cleaner to hose it down. What a beauty. The pre has bass and treble for each channel, low and high bypass filters and norm/revertse(180 deg) selector. This thing has what would be a HT 5 yrs ago built in, but STEREO!
Now, the Q. Both units have 20g lamp cord for power, non grounded.
What should I use for power cord? I have 14g cap-tie(rubber shrouded 3-wire), should I use something else? I will solder on the stuff I have to try it out after the cleaning, but is there a better rec?
Well the pre will not power up at all, and the ingress to the power connections are via 30 year old Reed and Prince screws, covered in shite. I may have to cut the screws with the Dremmel, losing the original screws in the process. Yeehaw. Not.
