Hey guys,
many of you're definetely from us, so how many of you imported the items from US?
I want to get an amp from US in Australia. Anyone have the idea of duties?

just have whoever you are buying from to make you a fake invoice for 25% of the actuall cost of the equipment. that way you pay less on the duties.

i don't know exactly how much you pay though.

hmmm. Ok I am gonna buy an amp of around 300 dollars, 25 % means 75 bucks, for that, you know how much custome do I have to apy?

i believe you pay like 100% of the invoice cost. like i said i don't really know. some countries its 200%.

but yeah if you make the invoice alot cheaper, you would pay alot less.

The best: please contact the Customs Information and Support Centre on 1300 363 263 or send an email to information@customs.gov.au
Just call and ask them,they will tell you exactly how and what you have to pay...
Or ask a seller to write on a box "gift for my brother...used item!" ,go to your post office,I am sure they know how to make it cheap!

it should. i send gifts to my faimly in BVI outside of US and i dont think i pay any customs

since its only one item i doubt you will have any problem aman. i don't know why i didn't think of that.

what i meant is that you are only going to be shippng one amp right? if you have multiple items of the similiar nature, the customs won't believe that it is a gift. since its only one amp you can pass for a gift.

hmm... thanks for your help. But I will confirm this from Post office first, so that I can get the amp wihout paying customs.
If still there is any trick to get rid of customs, please tell me
