I've moved to the US from the UK and brought along my Marantz CD-6000-OSE CD player with me.
On the back it says it's rated for a 230V 50Hz power input. I can get a transformer to step up the voltage from 110V to 230V, but there's nothing I can do change the frequency of the power supply here - it's stuck at 60Hz.
I've heard that some CD players use the power supply frequency to set it's clock. Does anyone know if the Marantz CD-6000-OSE does this? If I use it here will it play everything 20% quicker than it should?
Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I,m sorry, but you need a North American player for 60hz. The discussion has happened many times, and I do have an answer with a variable frequency drive meant for motors, but in fact you should pick up a new player. Welcome to NA. I hope it goes well for you. Do visit Canada, won't you?
