Help: my old Phillips TV has got the channel number stuck up on the top right of the screen, and I can't get rid of it. I need to get into the installation routine, and/or reset to defaults maybe, but this was done from the controller. The old controller died way back (the manual's gone as well) and we use a generic replacement. There may have been an access code punched in via the keypad - how did this work? I tried 0711 (from another model's manual) but it just jumped channels. Is there a hard reset method? There is no manual or support for this model online anymore. I know it's an old TV but there's nothing wrong with the picture - and the sound is ace, better than 99% of new TVs, as it came with a high-power multi-speaker Dolby stereo setup. We're wrinklies and not interested in flat panels or HDTV. If I wanted that I'd watch it on my PC.
