my sister went to an audio shop and bought some speakers, i gave her my phase linear amp. Is a decent lil system, no sub yet, but she has the tipical cr4ppy problem. Engine noise through the speakers.
1. if it is a GM product try the alternator often when they are going bad they create engine noise...
2. check RCA.. a way to do this is put a multimeter on DC volts and touch one prong to the ground part of the RCA and then touch the other one to the ground place on the amp once it is grounded... and if it has more than .5 difference then you have a ground loop bad..
ok usually a good fix is to take like a 10 gage wire and use the extra grounding screw location on teh back of the CD player and make a good second ground to the chassis of the CD player.. this is usually a good fix to the problem..
Derek, is not a GM product, is a honda civic and is only 100w rms, it has 1 day installed so there's no way the alt is f*cked. I still believe the ground is a problem.
Canaan i know that's their problem, but i'm not going to argue with some idiots about a stupid ground. i'll do it and i'll tell ya how it goes. It's not my system, i'm just trying to help and i wanted to be sure instead of start moving wires hehe.
i have actually wrapped the RCAs around the groud before simply because im in a hurry and never had a problem with that so long as the ground and RCAs are in good shap.. and these are new.. soo..
