is there anyway to measure my box to figure the sqft of air space in it..i had it made for my type r's and alot of people say it looks way to small

soo my box being 30in long by 12inch deep by 14 in hight would be 2.91of air space

2.16471 as the12volt says (if its sealed). you have to take into account the wood thickness as the12volt does :-)

and i play some songs and when it hits a lower note the subs sound weird. could that be from a sealed box

its the box. i would talk to rovin on this forum on what he wouldnt recommend for a type r 12 in a box.. he has tried tons of combinations for his type r's :-)

but yah i didnt really notice anything cause im new at all this and i had a kenwood 1000wat peak amp hit good for my first system but i read alot here and i now bought a hifonics brutis 1600watt amp...man it bumps soo much harder..my next project is to have a new box made and dynamat my whole car

the hifonics 1606D? if so, i would be EXTREMELY carfeful with your gains on the amp or you will blow that sub

okk..i was told that the type r's are really power hungery.other people on here said to get a kicker 1200.1 for them but i figured that hifonics would be a lil underrated soo it would be fine
