ok guys you know iv been having alt trouble so heres the deal.
when i first installed it i got 14.6v then after a minute or two the highest i ever saw was 14.1 and at idle with only my a/c on it goes down to 12.5v and doesnt come back up.
today i unplugged the plug that goes in the alt. and i got 15v with and without the a/c on.
do you think its bad to run it without the plug in?
if u get a better bat trust me ull see an improve ment u should have an extra battery for every 1k u run so dont expect to get 14.4 wen u dont have the power to back it up every one sees voltage drops its normal but get a better battery man and 0 guage BIG three
could be take it off then take it to advanced autoparts they have a alternator testor ive taken mine thier it works fine it seems like ur best option at this point
im going to take it to these guys im cool with at the autopart store and tell bench test it for me.
just pisses me off at idle only running a/c i get bad voltage drop and it doesnt come back up.
i hooked my dmm up so i can read the bat. voltage while i drive and i get 14.1 above idle to 13.5 so thats good.
i know i need damn 1/0 im getting it pretty soon. as for a battery i know a new one would definatly help but it doesnt change that my alt. puts out sh)t when i run my a/c or anything at idle.
sonofaBITCH i took it off and the damn bearing is bad its hard to turn and gets stuck so im screwed.
i can take it to this shop and they fix the bearings but i dont know for how much yet becuase they are closed.
or i can buy a new alt. for 140 and send my HO in and then just keep the stock one for a back up because with the luck im having i could run into a problem with my HO again and i dont want this sh)t to happen. plus if i dont send it back and have it repaired locally it voids the two year warrentee.
so basically im out 140$ and i need money for the mag GB
just noticed when i pulled it off. it was fine when i put it on my belt tension was fine and it never squeeled but when i took it off it was hard to turn and stuff
its not that its the changing the name all the time, all that sh!t under her name, the bs from the other categories, the usless pics, posting a hundred times about nothing just to get gold! it gets annoying and im not the only one who thinks so! now when she helps like she did in this thread its great but all that other bs can go!

well anyway my belt was not over tight or loose there is just something wrong with the alt. so yes i am sending it back. unfortunatly my stock alt. is compleaty dead so i have to spend 140 on a new one to use for 2 weeks.
oh and jen where do you get those little diagrams?
haha but like you didnt get them from a website or anything? iv got a teardown manual of my car that has tons of pics and stuff but just wondering, that could be good info to have for back up
