The only way I can get the current EPG is by switching off receiver and then back on. It then asks me if I want to load the EPG or not.

Is there a better way to refresh and load the current EPG

Thanks

This EPG issue has been bugging us all. Also in your post I do not read what receiver you are using and that makes it hard to help you. I have the pansat 3500 and have only a 2 hour guide that on DN will keep up SOMETIMES but, never on BEV I have to power off and back on then wait 1-5 min for a EPG. I feel it is still well worth it compared to the what $500 a month on programing I am "testing". If you add up all the pay per view we watch, all the movie channels its great.

so the short answer is we all have that issue as well We hope the great programmers someday soon will fix this issue. Just watch for a new .bin file. Meanwhile we will reboot to get current guide.

It sounds like you have a Pansat, Missisauga. There are a couple of things to note about EPGs.

The memory capacity (RAM) or your receiver determines how much EPG (1 hour, 2 hour, 8 hours, etc) your receiver can store. For example, a Pansat 2500 may only get 1 or 2 hours, while a Pansat 3500 will get a lot more.

EPGs load, of course, from the satellite, so the signal has to be good. Sometimes you will have to put your receiver on a channel with a strong signal in order to populate your EPG quickly.

Some bins are coded better than other. I find C00lsat has a better EPG than does Pansat. It's just the way the bin was written.

Lastly, EPGs rely on having your timezone and correct time set on your receiver.

Hope that helps you understand.
