I have a set of outdoor speakers that I want to hookup so I can listen to the TV while outside. My TV does not have external audio connections and I have no idea what my options are to make this work inexpensively. I have a DISH Network system, but that reciever does not have audio output. I do have an old VCR that does appear to have output connections but have absolutely no idea if I can make that work, or how. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. These speakers do work when I hook them to my radio/CD player.

The easiest way is to buy a duel-zone receiver. There are cheaper ways involving small amps from Radio Shack or cheap straight-amps but you would have a hard time controlling the volume. Besides a new receiver would make your current TV viewing better and you get a remote. Also, I find it hard to believe a Satelite receiver would not have at lease line-level audio out.
