I am trying to put 33'' anthena for FTA 97.0 for T-5/KU is 'Fortech Star Digital System Antenna'.
It looks like elevation is not the same as with GlobeCast antenna. I am having a very hard time to find that signal. What I am doing is that:
I did mount the beem in 0 level, I did put the antenna, for me elevation with globecast is 37.2
and I do move it left and right to find the signal but seems impossible.
I had it in diferent place but over there it reached only 14% and I moved it because I thought some tree did efect that signal.
So I moved it in clearer site but is imposible to reach that signal any help will be appreciated

Are you using a "linear" lnb, as opposed to "circular"?

Go to this site

http://www.arachnoid.com/satfinder/index.html

Enter ur area info. U will get the Az(t) - true north and Az(m) - magnetic north as well as the elevation.

U read the Azimuth (Az) clockwise on the compass. Ex 120 degree, would mean 120 degrees clockwise from the compass pointing north. U need to make sure ur compass is pointing magnetic north when using the Az(m). If ur compass is set pointing true north, then use Az(t).

The guys at the compass store will be able to help u. From what I understand, compass out of a box normally points magnetic north.

Get a good compass. Rei or similar stores would carry them (Suunto is a good brand, about $20)

Good luck!

37.2 sounds like NYC area (same as mine)
97.0°W Intelsat Americas 5
Elevation= 37.2°
Azmith= 214°

You start with true north using a compass
Count clockwise 214° (you can be off by +/-5° at the most)

Also few basics to keep in mind:
1- Use quad shield cables
2- This set-up must be away from ground interference) i.e. you don't want it 2 feet of the ground TYPICAL 20 FEET OR HIGHER
3- Correct size dish (97 requires 30" dish)
4- Pointing each dish to correct SAT
5- Use Correct LNB (Linear for 97)
6- Blind Scan (to get correct transponders)
7- Channel Scan (to start loading channels)
